Refuting An Arya Samaji,s Claim On Wife beating In Upanishad.

 Today I am simply Scrolling Reel On instagram My friend Send me a post Where An Arya Samaji Try to refute "Wife beating" I am now going To Refute His False claim In this article.

HE WROTE : Some people falsely alleged that Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 6.4.7 Allow striking a woman, but this is completely False. In this post, I will refute this false propaganda.

First, most commentaries on this subject are flawed because many Acharyas have misunderstood the meaning of this verse. We will understand its true meaning based on the context. First, we will establish that hitting a woman is prohibited.

MY RESPONSE: NO It,s Actually Not because Acharyas Are So Wise Even Your Arya Samaji Scholars Translate It Same way. 

HE WROTE : According to Shatapatha Brahmana 11.4.3.2, a woman should not be Beat. When the Brahman Granth explicitly prohibit this, no Upanishad can be interpreted to contradict it.

MY RESPONSE: Here He Make mistake Because Here Scholars Translate It "Killing" Not Beating It,s A huge difference. Here He make this mistake.

Let,s See The Full context In Shatpatha Brahmana 11/4/3 Tr.by Julius Eggeling:- 

1. Prajāpati was becoming heated (by fervid devotion), whilst creating living beings[1]. From him, worn out and heated, Śrī (Fortune and Beauty) came forth. She stood there resplendent, shining, and trembling[2]. The gods, beholding her thus resplendent, shining, and trembling, set their minds upon her.

2. They said to Prajāpati, 'Let us kill her and take (all) this from her.' He said, 'Surely, that Śrī is a woman, and people do not kill a woman, but rather take (anything) from her (leaving her) alive.'

3. Agni then took her food, Soma her royal power, Varuṇa her universal śovereignty, Mitra her noble rank, Indra her power, Bṛhaspati her holy lustre, Savitṛ her dominion, Pūṣan her wealth, Sarasvatī her prosperity, and Tvaṣṭṛ her beautiful forms.

• Here The Actual Context And The Actual Meaning Here The Context Not About "BEATING" But "KILLING". That,s Why Prajapati Said To Devtas That Don,t Kill Her, Let Her "ALIVE". But Prajapati Allow Devtas To Take anything From Her. It,s Actually What Devtas Want From Her. Now My Question For Him That Why Prajapati Allow Devtas That They Take Anything From Her ? Is It Good ?

• Arya Samaji Scholar "Ganga Prasad Upadhyay" Translated It In Same Manner.

Prajapati Did Not Stop Devtas Because He Knows That In Krishna Yajurveda 6/5/8/2 It Mentioned That, Women Are without Energy. They Should Not Get A Share In The Property. Even To The Wicked, They Speak In A Feeble Manner.

HE WROTE: Acharya Shivshankar Ji interprets this verse in his commentary, implying that the woman is being punished simply by saying, "If you don't follow the eternal dharma of procreation with me, I will remain celibate for life, and then you too will never become a mother." There's no mention of beating or Strike anywhere here.

MY RESPONSE: Here Arya Samaji Has Lied That "Shiv Shankar" Did Not Mean Beating, Let Us See What He Posted, In That Reference Itself There Is Mentioned Of giving "punishment", The Only Difference Is That He Has Kept It Optional. We Can Expect This Thing From An Arya Samaji. 

• Here The Red Underline Is Mine "Shiv Shankar" Translated It That, If The Wife Is Not Favorable To The Husband,,He Can Punish Her As Per His Wish It,s Optional For Him. Then He Say What He Quote.

Arya Samaji Scholar "Arya Muni" Translated It, If Wife Is Not Favorable To Husband, He Can "Punish" Her. And Give Her Teaching. 

• So Here The Conclusion Is Clear That His Claims Based On Misinterpretation And False Information. Actually Brihadaaranyak Upanishad 6/4/7 Allow "Wife Beating".

Manusmriti 8:299: The wife, the son, the slave, the servant and the uterine brother shall be beaten with a rope or a split bamboo, when they have committed a fault.—(299)
